WHAT WE ARE MAKING...

Hello there! I'm Tamara Kelly, designer/blogger/author/chief yarn sniffer at Moogly, where I share lots of free crochet patterns, video tutorials, giveaways, and other yarny goodies. This month marks the debut of my new book, Quick Crochet for the Home, and I can't think of any better way to celebrate that than to share an exclusive new blanket pattern here on Furls - after all, I used Furls hooks when designing the patterns for my book! So without further ado, this month's CAL is for the Snow Capped Throw!

The Snow Capped Throw is made with bulky yarn, so it's a quick make - you can have it ready by the holidays!

Inspired by the snow covered Rockies I was lucky enough to see a few times this year, it's got that great chunky look that is so loved right now.

It's very cozy, very usable, easy to take care of, and fun to crochet! You don't have to be an expert level crocheter to make this - it's easier than it looks!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED...

First, you have a choice to make! You can make the Snow Capped Throw all in one color, as shown above, or you can make a 2 color version like this sample:

In total, you will need 14 balls of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky, which is a Bulky yarn with the yarn symbol "5" - in the Uk, that's a 12 ply. Each skein has 153 yards, so that's 2125 yds total.

If you want the all white version, that would be 14 balls of Fisherman, and for the 2 color version you will need 7 balls each of Fisherman and Mulberry. Or of course you can pick your own colors!

We Will Be Using These Tools:

* US – N, 9.0mm Furls hook - I used the Candy Shop version!

* Large yarn needle for weaving in ends

AND IN THE MEANTIME... LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER!

I got the chance to chat with Harrison about life, the Crochet Along, crochet, you know... check it out! :D
