The Parielle Throw is a beautiful scrap-busting blanket made with the houndstooth stitch! Colour blocked to show the perfect rainbow gradient, the possibilities for this blanket are really endless! Crochet in your favourite medium to bulky weight yarn for a cozy afghan that’s great for snuggling.
For this blanket I used WeCrochet Mighty Stitch Bulky Weight Yarn and my 6mm Furls Crochet Hook.

- 5 balls Black #27141 (MCA), Silver #27157 (MCB), White #27160 (MCC)
- 1 ball each Pucker #27155 (CCA), Gulfstream #27148 (CCB), Sky #27158 (CCC), Mint #27151 (CCD), Alfalfa #27138 (CCE), Macaw #27150 (CCF), Canary #27143 (CCG).
MC refers to Main Colour, CC refers to Contrasting Colour.

US Size J/10 (6.0mm) Furls crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors.

PART ONE
We’re ready to begin the first colour-block panel of our houndstooth Parielle Afhgan! I stared with the darkest colour first (black) and worked my way up the gradient. Be sure that whatever colours you choose for your houndstooth stripes, they repeat uninterrupted through the entire pattern!
Notes
- Carry unworked yarn under stitches of working yarn.
- Chain 1 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch.
- Weave in ends as work progresses.
Instructions
Work Contrasting colours in repeat from CCA through to CCG for every Wrong Side Row.
With MCA.
Row 1(RS): Ch 151, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, turn--150 hdc.
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, with CC *[sc, dc in next] 25 times**, with MC hdc 50, repeat from * to **, turn--150 sts.
Row 4: Ch 1, with MC, *[sc, dc in next] 25 times**, hdc 50, repeat from * to **, turn.
Rows 5-46: Repeat Rows 3-4.
Fasten off MCA.
PART TWO
We’re now going to introduce the second medium colour for our colour block gradient, I went with grey! It’s amazing to see what happens visually to your stripes when you run them on a different coloured background! Mine for example seemed to turn pastel before my very eyes! I can’t wait to see yours!

Row 47: Ch 1, with MC hdc 50, [with CC sc, dc in next] 25 times, with MC hdc 50, turn.
Row 48: Ch 1, with MC hdc 50, [sc, dc in next] 25 times, hdc 50, turn.
Rows 49-89: Repeat Rows 47-48.
Fasten off MCB.
PART THREE
It’s time to add the last colour to our colour blocking! I added the lightest colour here, white! I can’t wait to see your beautiful Parielle Afghans!

Row 90: Repeat Row 4.
Rows 91-134: Repeat Rows 3-4.
Row 135: Repeat Row 2.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
